National Conference Monday urged the Government of India to ensure proper healthcare to the incarcerated Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik “on humanitarian grounds”.
“There is no justification for denying Malik the requiredhealthcare,” NC general secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar said in a statement.
Expressing concern over “the deteriorating health condition”of Malik, the NC leader said: “There are certain rights conferred upon allcitizens of India, the same should not be denied to him. Reports of hisworsening situation are of grave concern. I urge the Centre to move Yasin Malik to AIIMS or any other betterhealth facility”.
Sagar said that “if a terror accused like Pragya Thakur canbe granted bail on medical grounds, why Yasin Malik cannot be granted bail onthe same grounds”.
“Law will take its own course, given that his condition asper news reports is very critical. GoI should not discriminate on this issue,”he said.
