North Kashmir: Businesses affected in Sopore due to traders’ strike

Normal life was affected in Sopore on Wednesday due to the strike call issued by a traders’ body against the “failure” of the local administration to save the town from “unscrupulous elements.”

Traders body Sopore led by its president Haji Mohammad Ashraf Ganai on Tuesday had said that local administration had always failed to protect the town from “unscrupulous elements”, which has taken a toll on their businesses.

While castigating local administration, Ganai appealed to the public to observe complete shutdown on Wednesday.

The movement of traffic hasn’t been affected by the strike call.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Police has registered two FIR s (2/2018 and 3/2018) in the burglary and blaze incidents.

Pertinently, on Tuesday morning over dozen shops were gutted in a fire incident in which property worth lakhs was destroyed.
