Srinagar, June 20: The People’s Democratic Party’s Political Affairs Committee (PAC), which held a virtual meeting on Sunday, authorized President Mehbooba Mufti to take a final call on participation in the all party meeting to be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 24.
News gathering agency KNS quoting sources reported that the PAC members have authorized Mehbooba Mufti to decide about attending the all-party meeting as they cannot hold meetings on a daily basis over the matter in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Mehbooba ji said that that the agenda of the talks (at the all party meet) seems Delimitation and Election, which is not our agenda. Before dialogue GOI should have taken some confidence building measures. A final decision would be taken after PAGD meeting,” a party leader who attended the virtual meeting told KNS.
Sources added that the PAC members “reiterated that it should not deviate from the stand but should remain open to talks”.
“Party chief is in favour of Dr Farooq Abdullah representing the PAGD but the same was not supported by maximum members and the final decision has been kept reserved till PAGD meeting is convened,” he added.
