CEC Kargil calls on LG Ladakh

Kargil, Dec 17: Chairman and chief executive councilor (CEC) Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Kargil, Dr Mohammad Jaffer Akhoon called on Lieutenant Governor (LG) of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) and discussed the various issues related to Kargil district.

The meeting was also attended by Advisor to LG, Dr Pawan Kotwal, ADGP Ladakh Police, Dr SD Singh Jamwal, Principal Secretary, Health, Dr Vasanthakumar N, Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, Shrikant Balasaheb Suse, SSP Kargil, Anayat Ali Chaudhary, Director, Health Services, Dr Motup Dorje; Chief Engineer, PWD (R&B)/PMGSY, AbduL Mutalib; Superintending Engineer, PWD (R&B)/PMGSY, Skalzang Dorjay;

   

Superintending Engineer, PHE (I&FC), Maqbool Hussain; officials from District Hospital, Kargil and NHIDCL. During the meeting Chairman/CEC, LAHDC, Kargil raised a number of issues.

CEC LAHDC Kargil raised the issue of extension of Kargil Civil Airport for commercial flights on which the LG assured to take up the matter with concerned official of Spice Jet for operation of civil flights at Kargil Airport. CEC highlighted the importance of Iqbal Micro Hydro Project and requested for its renovation/ refurbishment of the project, which was submitted to UT Administration for consideration. The LG assured to sanction the refurbishing of project. LG also directed to the concerned for early execution of five small Hydro Electric Projects, sanctioned for Kargil district.

Regarding the demand of recruitment of constables in Ladakh Police on district cadre post basis and the LG asked ADGP Ladakh Police to examine the demand on district cadre basis. Other demands include proper functioning of Directorate Offices headquartered at Kargil , Implementation of recruitment rules (RR) framed for posts of LAHDC Kargil and creation of additional posts in LAHDC Kargil for smooth functioning of the hill council, establishment of fire stations at sub-divisional headquarters, filling up the vacant posts of Assistant Professors in University of Ladakh and Higher Education
Department, Ladakh along and making Ladakh Residence Certificate (LRC) mandatory for appointment of Assistant Professor on contractual/permanent basis also.

Regarding the issue delegation of financial powers of LAHDCs to accord Administrative Approval (AA), advance drawl and award of contracts and the HLG assured to submit a proposal to Ministry of Home Affairs Government of India for the same. Chairman/CEC LAHDC Kargil also raised issues related to District Hospital, Kargil, such as shelter for relatives of patients at District Hospital, Kargil, and Construction of additional wings, at District Hospital, Kargil. The Leitunent Governor Ladakh gave a patient hearing and assured redressal of all the demands put forth.
