Srinagar, May 25: The voter turnout is picking up and witnessing a substantial surge with 35.61 percent electors casting their votes in the entire constituency of Anantnag-Rajouri Parliamentary seat by 01.00 pm, Chief Election Officer J&K informed.

The official said that till 1 pm, 35.61 % polling was recorded in all polling stations of the PC amid elaborate arrangements in place for the voters and the election staff.

   

He said the voters, braving the extreme hot weather, are queuing up enthusiastically to exercise their franchise while understanding the power of voting in transforming their lives.

Giving details the CEO J&K said the voter turnout recorded till 1:00 pm in different segments is as under:

Anantnag 21.19%, Anantnag west 24.20%, Budhal (ST) 39.82%, DH Pora 35.36%, Devsar 28.50%, Dooru 31.89%, Kokernag (ST) 34.00%, Kulgam 21.27%, Mendhar 42.06%, Nowshera 47.31%, Pahalgam 39.78%, Poonch Haveli 46.52%, Rajouri (ST) 52.74%, Shangus – Anantnag East 27.08%, Srigufawara – Bijbehara 27.00%, Surankot (ST) 40.72%, Thanna Mandi (ST) 46.60%, Zainapora 27.79 %.
