Two-way traffic along Srinagar-Jammu National Highway tomorrow

Srinagar, March 13: Traffic authorities on Wednesday said that subject to fair weather and good road condition, Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) from both sides shall be allowed along the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway tomorrow.

Regarding the Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs), it said that they shall be allowed from Jakheni (Udhampur) towards Srinagar after assessing the road condition.

About the cut-off timing,  the traffic police said that in view of single road at Dalwas along the highway, the following timings could be changed, depending on the road condition.

From Nagrota (Jammu), vehicles shall be allowed between 0600 hrs to 1100 hrs, while from Jakheni (Udhampur) they shall be allowed between 0700 hrs to 1200 hrs and rom NAVYUG Tunnel (Qazigund side) 0600 hrs to 1100 hrs

No Vehicle shall be allowed after cut off timing.

Security forces are advised not to ply against the traffic advisory amid traffic congestion due to narrow carriage way between Nashree and Banihal along the highway.

The  Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumari, Mughal road, Bhaderwah-Chamba road, and Kishtwar- Sinthan- Anantnag NH-244 remain blocked due to snow accumulation, the traffic police said.

Further, it advised people to undertake the journey along the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway only after confirming the status of the road from the concerned Traffic Control Units.
