New Delhi, Aug 14: The Supreme Court on Wednesday conferred the designation of senior advocate on Sharan Dev Singh Thakur.
According to a press release, the prestigious gown was awarded following a thorough selection process conducted by the committee for designation of Senior Advocates (CDSA) which is headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Dhananjaya Y Chandrachud and comprises of other members which include Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Bhushan R Gavai (two senior-most judges), Attorney General R Venkataramani and Madhavi Divan (a nominated member of the Bar).
The committee followed a rigorous selection mechanism that considered the candidates on a range of factors.
