Pakistan sends back Poonch boy who crossed LoC five months ago

A boy hailing from Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir wason Friday handed back to the Indian authorities by Pakistan, nearly half a yearafter he crossed the Line of Control (LoC).

Ilyas Mohammad of Jhulas village in Poonch had gone missingon 11 December 2013, sources said.

   

However, a video went viral on social media two days laterin which Ilyas was spotted in a village close to the LoC on the Pakistani side.

“Boy has been repatriated through crossing point on the Lineof Control,” said a source.

When contacted, SSP Poonch Ramesh Angral said that boy hasbeen handed over to the police by army.

He said the boy will be reunited with his family after allthe medico-legal formalities.
