A panchayat leader was injured in cross-LoC (Line ofControl) shelling in Balnoi village of Krishna Ghati sector of Mendhar inPoonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.
The injured, identified as Naib sarpanch, ZaffarullahKhan from Balnoi Panchayat, was shifted to Poonch hospital for treatment.
The armies of India and Pakistan have been exchanging heavyfire and shelling in the area since early morning.
