School students protest against staff shortage in Jammu and Kashmir’s Surankote

The students of government High School Morha Bachai inSurankote area of Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday staged aprotest against the shortage of staff.

Reports said that the protesting students raised slogansagainst the state’s education department and accused it of ruining theirfuture.

   

“There is a severe shortage of teaching staff at our schoolwhich is adversely affecting our studies,” a protesting student said.

He said that this matter has time and again been taken upwith the department but so far there has been no positive response.

The protesting students also blocked the Jammu-Poonchnational highway for three hours at Dundak village of Surankote.

Later, chief education officer Poonch and sub divisionalmagistrate Surankote reached at the spot and pacified the protesting students.

On Wednesday, the students of government higher secondaryschool Kotranka in Rajouri had also staged protest against staff shortage attheir school.
