Rajouri, March 27: One person was killed and 56 others injured after a bus they were traveling in skidded off the road and rolled down into a gorge along the Lam-Nowshera road in J&K’s Rajouri district on Monday, officials said.
An official said the bus was on way from Lam towards Nowshera when the mishap took place.
A massive rescue operation was soon launched by the army, police and civil administration at the accident site to evacuate the injured to the hospital, he said.
The official said that 56 passengers were injured in the accident who were shifted to sub district hospital Nowshera. He said that six injured have been referred to GMC Associated Hospital Rajouri.
“One person has also lost his life in the accident whose body has been retrieved from the site,” he added.
