Rajouri, Feb 27: At least ten passengers were injured in a road accident near Kalakote bus stand in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said today.
A police official said that a minibus bearing registration number JK11 1209 on way to Kalakote from Siot veered off the road and ended up in a roadside field just few hundred metres away from the Kalakote bus stand.
Fourteen passengers travelling in the vehicle sustained injuries in the mishap, said the official, adding that four injured were discharged after first aid. Ten others, he said, were taken to Kalakote civil hospital.
The injured were identified as Neeraj Kumar (36) son of Kasturi Lal resident of Barehvi, Kapil Sharma (25) son of Mulkh Raj resident of Barehvi, Mohammad Ishaq (45) son of Mohammad Azim resident of Panjah, Saleema Begum (50) wife of Abdul Majid resident of Dharamsal, Anjali Devi (21) wife of Ajay Sagyal resident of Sunderbani, Mohammad Ishtiyaq (70) son of Mohammad Ismail resident of Dharamsal, Zeenat (31) wife of Naseem Ahmed resident of Solki, Rabia Kouser (12) daughter of Mohammad Ishtiyaq resident of Potha, Abhikash (20) son of Sat Pal resident of Panjah and Adhrav Sharma (20) son of Birbal Sharma resident of Panjah.
The official said that they have taken cognizance of the matter.
