Srinagar, Mar 28: Chairman Peoples Democratic Front ( PDF) and former Minister Hakeem Muhammad Yaeen has welcomed the Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement that the centre would consider revoking the Armed Forces (Special Powers) Act (AFSPA ) from Jammu and Kashmir and gradual withdrawal of security forces.
In a statement Yaseen has demanded release of all the prisoners languishing in different jails ,who are not involved in serious criminal cases. “These steps , if taken , on the eve of ensuing Eid-ul-Fitre ,would be magnificent confidence building measures (CBMs) to restore people’s trust and faith on the democratic system.”he said. Yaseen said removal of AFSPA would give a big relief to the affected people.
