Eighteen years old mountaineer, Riza Alee is aimingliterally for the Everest.
The teenager from Budgam’s Magma is preparing to scale MountEverest and is seeking all the help and sponsorships he can get for hisexpedition to the world’s highest peak become a reality.
“I will start my expedition to Everest from early April.Since no one has scaled the peak from valley till now I am hoping to become thefirst one to do so,” Riza Alee said.
At 18 Alee who is already a professional mountain and hesays he has finished all the necessary requirements like training and othermountaineering for the expedition and is now hoping for sponsorship.
“In August last year I went to Manali for my mountaineeringcourses and this year in January I went to Mount Abu Rajasthan for my rockclimbing course and successfully completed it,” Alee said, adding he has alsodone a specialised course in mountain climbing from Atal Bihari VajpayeeInstitute of mountaineering and Allied spots (ABVIMAS) where he was one amongonly five participants from around the world.
Alee is also an adventure photography enthusiast and hasscaled Mahadev peak, the highest in Srinagar twice besides climbing Stok Kangri(6153m) in Ladakh last year.
“By climbing Stok Kangri I became the youngest person fromKashmir to summit it,” said Alee.
Alee hopes to raise awareness about climate change byattempting to scale Mount Everest.
“I went to many people in private and government sector butso far no one came forward, I hope through media I can reach to people who canhelp me,” Alee said.”I have also started online campaign with thehelp of some social media influencers so that I could raise money which canhelp me fund my expedition.”
