Congress grieved over loss of lives in Baramulla landslide

Srinagar, Mar 16: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President Ghulam Ahmad Mir and Vice President Abdul Rashid Dar Wednesday expressed grief over the death of two persons in the landslide at Wagoora area of Baramulla district.

A statement of Congress issued here said that they termed the incident heart-wrenching and painful.

   

“We strongly urge the government to constitute a team of experts that will review safe excavation sites to ensure the safety of the people dealing with this profession,” they said in the statement. Meanwhile, Mir called for amicably settling the issue of laying of water pipeline from Veerinag spring instead of the imposition of Section 144 in Dooru Vering. “The issue needs to be settled by involving representatives from both Dooru and Veerinag to address this issue,” he said.
