Illegal construction at Gogji Bagh | HC seeks SMC compliance report by Dec 10

Srinagar, Dec 4: The High Court has asked the Srinagar Municipal Corporation ( SMC) to file up to mark compliance report by December 10 regarding alleged illegal construction of a hotel at Gogji Bagh area here.

A division bench of Justice Ali Muhammad Magrey and Justice Mohammad Akram Chowdhary granted the time following the submission by SMC counsel that compliance in relation to the previous order was ready and he required some short time to file the same.

   

“Let the needful be done by the next date of hearing positively with a copy in advance to the other side,” the court said and posted the PIL for further consideration on December 10.

On last date of hearing, the court had pulled up SMC for not filing up to mark compliance report regarding the construction of a hotel allegedly coming up illegally in Gogji Bagh area here.

The PIL filed by residents of Gogji Bagh here alleges that two persons are raising illegal construction in the residential area. They allege that though permission was taken for a Guest House but the construction was converted into a hotel with no proper parking or other facilities available.
