A constable of Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) committed suicide by shooting himself dead in Srinagar on Sunday morning.
The deceased was identified as Constable Ramphul Meena (beltnumber 127020492) of ITBP 11 bn.
A local news gathering agency, GNS, quoting a policeofficer, said that constable Meena shot himself with his service rifle insidehis camp at sericulture office in Solina area of Srinagar while he was on duty.
He said that the constable had suffered serious injuries inthe incident.
“The injured constable was immediately taken to SMHShospital where doctors declared him brought dead,” the officer said.
The officer said that a case has been registered and furtherinvestigations have been taken up.
