Srinagar, June 1: Several medical shops were sealed at Soura locality after shopkeepers could not produce the vaccination certificate.
An official from district administration said that some medical shops were sealed by the tehsildar of the concerned area.
“Many shop owners were found unvaccinated following which the shops were sealed. It was also found that at some of the shops, SOPs were violated which triggered the action against the erring shopkeepers,” the official said.
The officials said that the drive was led by Tehsildar Eidgah in order to check if the shopkeepers are vaccinated and whether covid SOPs are followed.
Pertinent to mention that district administration Srinagar has directed all the shopkeepers and transporters display the covid vaccination certificate.
“Please understand it is a minimal unlock. 96 containment zones continue to be under Corona lockdown in Srinagar. Shopkeepers and transporters to display covid vaccination certificates,” DC Srinagar, tweeted on Monday.
On Tuesday, around dozen medical shops were sealed outside SKIMS and adjoining localities of Soura. Officials said that some of the shopkeepers were also fined for violating COVID SOPs.
