Drug peddlers’ properties worth crores attached in Jammu

Jammu, Mar 24: Jammu police Sunday stated to have attached properties worth crores of notorious drug peddlers in Rajeev Nagar area of Jammu.

The properties attached included one triple-storey house and the other double-storey house, belonging to three drug-peddlers, including two women.

A police spokesperson said, “Continuing its strict action against drug peddlers under Operation Sanjeevani, Jammu police today attached one triple-storey house and one double-storey house, valuing crores, belonging to notorious drug peddlers namely Reena alias Roopa, wife of Bobby, resident of Rajeev Nagar, Narwal and a couple viz., Pal Singh, son of Roshan Lal and his wife Seema, residents of Rajeev Nagar, Narwal Jammu under section 68-F of NDPS Act 1985.”

According to the spokesperson, the houses attached were identified as “illegally acquired property during the course of investigation or enquiry conducted by Jammu police.”

“The property was prima facie accrued from the proceeds of illicit trafficking in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances by the owners of these houses. These drug peddlers are involved in case FIR Nos 220/2017 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act; 67/2019 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act; 185/2017 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act; 220/2022 U/S 8/17/18/20 NDPS Act and 153/2023 U/S 8/20/29 NDPS Act, all registered at Police Station, Bahu fort, Jammu,” he said.

“This operation reaffirms the commitment of Jammu police to combat the drug menace with full force,” the spokesperson added.
