Joint intelligence, security review meeting held in Rajouri

Jammu, Mar 9: A robust security framework will be created by pooling all the resources and expertise of the stakeholders to deter potential threats and maintain peace and stability in the sub-region of Rajouri, Poonch.

This objective was delineated in a joint intelligence and security review meeting conducted by Indian army in the presence of all the stakeholders at Palma Garrison, Rajouri on March 8.

It was attended by officers from the Indian army; DIG Police Rajouri-Poonch range; DIG Border Security Force, para military forces, intelligence agencies and other relevant stakeholders.

During the meeting, they discussed several key issues related to intelligence gathering, threat assessment, and security arrangements. They evaluated the potential challenges, such as possible terrorist activities or civil unrest, and devised strategies to mitigate these risks.

PRO Defence Lt Col Suneel Bartwal stated that the primary objective of the meeting was to assess the existing intelligence and security situation in the sub-region and formulate strategies to ensure the successful and peaceful conduct of upcoming events.

“The meeting served as a platform for sharing intelligence inputs, discussing security protocols and coordinating efforts among different security agencies. The participants emphasised the need for seamless coordination, intelligence sharing and proactive measures to ensure the safety and security of the region,” he said.

“Overall, the joint intelligence and security review meeting aimed to enhance the preparedness and effectiveness of security arrangements in Rajouri and its surrounding areas. By pooling their resources and expertise, the stakeholders aimed to create a robust security framework that would deter potential threats and maintain peace and stability in the region,” it was stated.
