‘1 arrested, 4861 fined for violating Covid-19 guidelines’

Srinagar, June 25: One person was arrested while 4681 persons were fined for violating Covid-19 guidelines across Kashmir on Friday.

A statement of J&K Police issued here said that continuing its efforts to curb the outbreak of second wave of coronavirus, during the last 24 hours Police arrested one person, lodged two FIRs and realized a fine of Rs 6,57,540 from 4681 people throughout Kashmir for violating the various guidelines, rules and SOPs regarding Covid-19.

It said that the special drive against the violators of Covid-19 guidelines and rules continued throughout all the districts of Kashmir to ensure that people adhere to SOPs and guidelines envisaged by government to curb Covid-19 pandemic.

The J&K Police statement said that the community members were once again being requested to cooperate with the Police in containing the spread of coronavirus by following the SOPs, guidelines and protocols for their own safety and for the safety of others.

“The special drive will continue throughout the districts of Kashmir to strengthen the safety measures,” the statement said.
