Anantnag: The authorities on Wednesday demolished an illegal brick kiln that was coming up on the agriculture land at Nowgam Silgam village of south Kashmirs Anantnag district.
The move was taken following the directions of deputy commissioner Anantnag Dr Piyush Singla.An official said some persons had illegally commenced the construction of a brick kiln on Abi e Awal land.
“As they failed to produce building permissions, a team of revenue officials led by Tehsildar Pahalgam demolished the illegal structure, “he said.DC Anantnag said that district administration is committed to discourage illegal constructions and violators will be taken to task as per law.
“I have ordered all the subordinate revenue offices to maintain strict vigilance in this regard. Any official found colluding with miscreants on this account will face disciplinary action under rules, “he said.
Meanwhile, locals from the area have hailed the Deputy Commissioner and Tehsildar for their prompt action
