Srinagar, Feb 16: DGP’s Public grievances redressal and interaction programme will be held on Saturday late afternoon  at District Police Lines, Baramulla and is exclusively for the residents of Baramulla district.

To participate in the programme, individuals with grievances related to police services have been asked to  visit the District Police Line (DPL) to register at the help desk established for the purpose.

People who wish to bring their grievances to the attention of DGP should submit a written application containing complete details including that of a working mobile number.

It is reiterated that the DGP’s Public Grievance Redressal programme is exclusively for addressing concerns related to police services. It does not include matters concerning the recruitment of Special Police Officers (SPOs) or general transfers so the grievances pertaining to these specific areas will not be entertained during the grievance redressal programme.

The RR Swain initiative  has been instrumental in providing a platform for citizens to voice their grievances and seek solutions. The decision to hold such an event in Baramulla underscores the importance of reaching out to remote areas and ensuring that every citizen’s voice is heard.

One of the key challenges in public grievance redressal is the timely resolution of complaints. Often, grievances linger for long periods, leading to frustration and disillusionment among citizens.

The RR Swain initiative prioritises the speedy resolution of complaints to instill confidence among the public and demonstrate the government’s commitment to addressing their concerns.

Moreover, the event in Baramulla presents an opportunity to highlight the importance of citizen engagement in governance.

By actively participating in the grievance redressal process, citizens can play a vital role in shaping policies and programmes that directly impact their lives.

The upcoming public grievance redressal event by RR Swain in Baramulla is a step in the right direction towards ensuring effective governance.
