Missing Rajouri villagers traced in Shopian

Rajouri: The two villagers feared to have gone missing in snow affected upper reaches of Rajouri and Reasi districts have been traced by Police.

A statement of Police issued here said that the missing report of the duo was lodged at Police Station Budhal on October 24 after which it came to the fore that one Javed Shah, son of Haneef Shah of Targain along with his relative Khadam Shah, son of Muzamal Shah of Hasote Chasana, Reasi left for Kashmir by foot along with their cattle on October 22 but no further communication had been possible with them.

It said that after receiving this information, Police rushed to the upper reaches of the snow-bound mountains for a search and rescue operation while the Army assisted it in this operation.

The Police statement said that a specific technical exercise was initiated to trace the missing person.

The statement said that Police assisted in establishing contact with the missing persons who had been traced safely.

Meanwhile, SP Rajouri, Sheema Nabi Qasba appealed people not to venture on the snow-bound mountains and areas and move only on safe tracks during the winter.
