Pulwama: The employees of all the five municipal committees in district Pulwama Thursday staged a protest against the authorities for not releasing salaries of the municipal committee and electric division employees for the past two months.
While continuing the protests and demand, dozens of protesting employees Thursday assembled in the premises of the municipal committee and raised slogans for their demands.
They were carrying placards in their hands having their demand written on them.
The protesters said that despite working continuously during the pandemic and risking their lives, they were without salaries for the past two months.
They said that the employees of the Electrical department and all five municipal committees were suffering badly due to the problem.
One of the employees, Manzoor Pampori said, “The accounts officer retired two months ago but since then the employee are without salaries which is injustice to these ground-level employees.”
The employees, especially the sweepers, said that they work tirelessly and have no other source of income other than their salaries we get.
They requested LG Manoj Sinha and the district authorities to release the salaries so that they could fullfil their needs.
