Srinagar, Feb 18: Residents of Shivpora locality here have demanded proper installation of a drinking water pipeline which they said was laid haphazardly in the area last year.
“PHE department laid the pipeline on the road last year. In last over three months, many people have been injured after skidding over the pipeline. We have been apprising the concerned department to redress the issue but our pleas have met with deaf ears,” said a delegation from the area led by Sheikh Behzaad. ‘‘We make a fervent appeal to Chief Engineer PHE department to look into the matter and direct the concerned officials to lay the pipeline beneath the road to ensure smooth pedestrian and vehicular movement,” he added.
