Srinagar, June 1: Calling for strict adherence to the COVID19 safety guidelines, Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Mohammed Aijaz Assad has urged upon Srinagarities to make collective effort to fight and defeat coronavirus.
In his video message, the DC said that Srinagar falls in COVID orange zone. “Unlocking process doesn’t mean we can violate COVID19 SOPs.”
“It shall be our alertness in terms of dealing with the COVID19 situation whether we want to proceed towards Green zone or back to Red Zone,” he said urging people to follow COVID19 safety guidelines in letter and spirit.
He said the district Administration is working hard to fight COVID19 pandemic. “People of the district have extended their cooperation due to which visible decline has been witnessed during the past few days. We have to follow SOPs and adopt appropriate behavior with more responsibility to make entry into the Green Zone,” he said.
The government has divided J&K into three zones – red, orange and green. Depending on the number of COVID19 cases, the district is classified as red, green or orange. Red zone means a place which is considered as hotspot of COVID19 after number of cases exceed.
The DC said, “current relaxation is a minimal unlock and as many as 96 Containment Zones shall continue to be under COVID19 lockdown in Srinagar.”
“Lowering guard against pandemic like violation of COVID19 SOPs means incurring heavier losses,” he said.
The DC impressed upon all the residents of Srinagar to get vaccinated. He added that reopening of markets shall go as per the instruction issued, appealing business establishment and traders to follow the same to contain the spread of virus.
The DC said that outdoor Bazaars and Outdoor shopping complexes shall be allowed to operate on Mondays and Thursdays, starting from Monday.
“Markets having shops on both sides of road, shops on one side of the road only shall open on a particular day/date, the other side shall remain closed completely, and the sequence of opening shall be on rotation basis,” he said.
