AWAAM KI AWAAZ | LG appreciates Reasi resident’s suggestions on education reforms

Srinagar: Lt Governor Manoj Sinha appreciated the suggestion of a Reasi resident Choudhary Ashraf Hussain on education reforms.

An official spokesman in a statement issued here said that he mentioned a Reasi scholar, Hussain in the recent episode of ‘Awaam Ki Awaaz’ radio talk for sharing interesting ideas for the enhancement, widening and enrichment of the nature and scope of school education landscape.

The LG also appreciated the suggestions given by Hussain regarding promotion of Gojri language in J&K.

Choudhary had earlier pleaded for introduction of Gojri language in schools and other higher educational institutions here.

The spokesman said that Husain had called for making Gojri widely understood for popularising the associated culture and traditions of Gujjars.

Choudhary said that this step would also open up different avenues of empowerment for the native community.

He said that there were so many aspects of Gojri culture and milieu that needed widespread understanding.

Choudhary lamented that this could only be realised once the people understood the language and read the literature written in it.

He also propounds that a sizable chunk of the population had been speaking this language for centuries.

Choudhary craves for inclusive administrative attention towards the advancement of this language to infuse confidence among its native community and awareness among other residents of J&K about its richness and resplendence.

The LG in his recent episode of ‘Awam Ki Awaz’ praised him for his valuable suggestions and Choudhary thanked the LG for considering his suggestions and mentioning him in the monthly radio talk.
