Rajouri, Feb 16: Despite after repeated calls by the people the government authorities in Rajouri have failed to establish adequate parking spaces in Rajouri town.
The problem is causing frequent jamming.
The Rajouri town is not only the district headquarter but it also houses several other important government as well as private institutions like Government Medical College Rajouri due to which the number of vehicles running on roads increases multifold times when compared with the population of the town.
Lack of adequate parking spaces has always been a problem for the local population who most of the times are left with no other option then to park their vehicles on main roads which are many times seized by traffic police for no parking offence.
Amid all this, the government authorities has failed to identify and establish adequate number of parking spaces in and around the town making it difficult for people to park their vehicles while visiting the town areas.
Locals including Om Chander, Satish Sharma, Shafiq Mohammad and others said that parking spaces are a basic requirement for any urban area and it should be ensured that adequate parking places are made available for people so as to facilitate their easy journey.
