Alamdar-e-Kashmir conference held at Chanapora | Spread Sheikh Nooruddin Noorani (RA)’s message of love, morality, truthfulness: Speakers

Srinagar, Nov 2: Speakers at the Alamdar-e-Kashmir conference held at the Center for Senior Citizens at Chanapora urged the need to expand the ambit and outreach of the message of Sheikh Nooruddin Noorani (RA) about human love, morality and truthfulness.

A statement issued here said that during the programme organised by the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) and Social Welfare Department’s Srinagar office, it was felt to make the words and ideas of the revered Sufi saint in his verses comprehendible for the people to understand easily.
On this occasion, Ghulam Nabi Adfar, who has translated verses of Shiekh Nooruddin Norrani (RA) into Urdu and English languages, was also felicitated.
His book ‘Alchemy of Light’ comprising Urdu and English translations of verses of Shiekh Nooruddin Noorani (RA) and his other publications about the revered saint were also introduced to senior citizens present on the occasion.

   

He also shared his experiences with the audience.
Writer and Poet Inayat Gul and Ali Ahsan, both hailing from Chrar-e-Sharief, presented elaborate commentaries on the book ‘Alchemy of Light’.
Prof Farooq Fayaz urged the need for preserving Kashmir’s cultural legacy which was the hallmark of Kashmiri Reshism.
He said Shiekh-ul-Aalam was a great socio-cultural practitioner who tirelessly worked for transformation of the society through his Reshi movement.
He underscored the need for translating verses of Sheikh Nooruddin Noorani (RA) into other languages to spread his message and mission of humanity on the global platform.
Former broadcaster Bashir Aarif said that Shiekh-ul-Alam (RA) was the symbol and torch bearer of Kashmiryat whose teachings were key to eliminating evils from society.

He urged the need to unveil multifaceted dimensions of Shiekh Nooruddin Noorani (RA) on strong historical evidence which were yet shrouded in the den of mist and tales.
Retired IAS officer Ghulam Jeelani Nehvi urged to follow the teachings of human wellbeing enshrined in the verses of Shiekh-ul-Alam (RA).
He urged for the community’s involvement to eradicate evils from society, the especially prevailing drug menace.

A Mehfil-e-Mushaira was also conducted in which many prominent poets recited their poems.
The poets included Bashir Aarif, Muhammad Yaseen Madhosh, Inayat Gul, Wali Waheed, and Mushtaq Mehram.
Former Director Doordarshan Shabir Mujahid, former chief engineer Zafar Iqbal, and Tehsil Social Welfare Officer Abdul Bari were also present on the occasion.
Chairman Ahata Waqar Abdul Gani Parray delivered the vote of thanks.
