Baramulla, June 1: Police on Tuesday advised people to remain cautious as some cyber fraudsters under the pretext of ‘job offer’ messages were obtaining vital information about the bank details of a candidate and later fraudulently withdraw money from the candidate’s bank account.
While detecting one such text message of job offer, ‘Spend a few minutes every day, you can earn Rs 30,000 per month’ , a Police spokesman said the cyber cell of Police found that this message was being circulated by some cyber criminals to mint money from the innocent candidates.
Police has advised the people to follow some tips before replying to such messages.
The tips include avoiding clicking on unknown links on any instant messaging platforms, paying close attention to URLs before submitting any information, avoiding sharing fake or unknown links and news on social media platforms and not installing the unknown third party mobile app and installing anti-virus solution to block unknown softwares.
Police has also instructed people to follow @CyberDost on Twitter or visit the cybercrime.gov.in portal for additional information.
