COVID-19 | 4 die, 444 test positive

Srinagar, June 23: Jammu and Kashmir reported 444 new Covid-19 positive cases while 4 died due to coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

The number of active positive cases has witnessed a drastic decline as the number of active cases has come down in less than a month from 50,000 to below 7000.

   

As per the details shared by the Health department, currently there are 6782 active cases.

The Health department officials said that the decline in active cases was an encouraging sign as it had reduced burden on the healthcare institutions of J&K.

Of the total active cases, 4277 are in the Kashmir division and 2505 in the Jammu division.

As far as the fatality rate was concerned, from the last two weeks the number of deaths too has shown a dip. On Wednesday, four fatalities were reported, two from Kashmir division and two from Jammu division.

As per the official details one died in GMC Jammu, one at home, one at SMHS Srinagar and one in GMC Anantnag.

The total number of fatalities reported in J&K so far is 4273.

The number of positive cases detected on Wednesday was 444 of which 138 positive cases were reported from Jammu division and 306 from Kashmir division taking the total tally of positive cases to 3,13,028.

Srinagar reported 98 cases, Baramulla 34, Budgam 40, Pulwama 40, Kupwara 25, Anantnag 40, Bandipora 17, Ganderbal 19, Kulgam 11, Shopian three, Jammu 20, Udhampur nine, Rajouri 23, Doda 25, Kathua six, Samba three, Kishtwar nine, Poonch 17, Ramban eight and Reasi 18.

The number of recoveries again outnumbered the positive cases.

On Wednesday, 839 Covid-19 patients recovered, 250 from Jammu division and 589 from Kashmir.

With it the total of 3,01,973 people have recovered so far from coronavirus.
