Srinagar, Nov 17: SKUAST-K Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (SKIIE) Centre Friday kick-started World Entrepreneurship Week “Aaash” with an aim to promote entrepreneurship, innovation, and creativity among aspiring entrepreneurs and young minds.
A statement said that this week-long event is designed to provide a platform for young individuals to engage with the entrepreneurial ecosystem, gain valuable insights, and connect with industry experts.
Chief Executive Officer, SKIIE Centre, Naveed Hamid, briefed about the importance of Global Entrepreneurship Week at SKUAST Kashmir and the day-wise schedule of the week-long programme. Director, Research and Planning and Monitoring, Prof Haroon R Naik gave an overview of the importance of skill development among students and young entrepreneurs. He said SKUAST-K has taken the lead in skill development programs across the length and breadth of J&K.
Additional Deputy Commissioner and GM Industries, Pulwama, Dr Fayaz Ahmad Banday, briefed about the real attributes of a budding entrepreneur and how to be market-ready. He assured all the startups and officers on behalf of the department of handholding support at any stage of their startup journey and appreciated the move taken by SKUAST-K.
The acting Vice Chancellor Prof MAA Siddique congratulated the entrepreneurs, and start-ups for being the architects of change.
He said that celebrating the journey of a startup is important and needs to be cherished at every stage. He congratulated the team SKIIE Centre led by Naveed Hamid, Chief Executive Officer for conducting such a grand event and appreciated the efforts of the faculty and student startups.
Later during the technical session, startup founders Naveed Chiken, Dr Barkat Hussain, Dr Rafiya Mushtaq and Ahmer Bashir shared their startup journey with the students with an aim to motivate the young minds towards innovation and entrepreneurship.
Prof Shakeel Ahmad Mir, Coordinator IQAC Cell SKUAST-K presented a vote of thanks.
