Srinagar, Nov 30: Marengo CIMS Hospital in Ahmedabad has positioned itself as a global centre for advanced heart transplants, boasting a clinical excellence team led by Dr Dhiren Shah, Director of the Heart Transplant Programme.
A statement said that with double-digit annual procedures, the hospital has gained international recognition.
“The past decade has seen a remarkable global surge in heart transplant procedures, witnessing over a 300% increase worldwide and exceeding 400% in the United States alone. Despite heart transplants starting
in India in 1994, it only became a preferred option for end-stage heart failure patients around 2010.”
Dr Shah notes the procedure’s life-saving impact, offering improved quality of life and long-term survival, making India a rising global destination for medical treatment solutions.
