Srinagar, June 7: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Vice President Omar Abdullah Monday presided over a meeting of Party’s constituency in-charges of North Kashmir’s Baramulla District here at party headquarters Nawa-e-Subha, Srinagar.
In a statement the Party said that its General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar, Provincial President Nasir Aslam Wani, North Zone President and MP Baramulla Muhammad Akbar Lone and other attended the meeting.
Omar expressed ‘concern over the soaring unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir and increased incidents of suicide among youth.’ He said the successive clamp down and Covid induced lock downs have further compounded the woes of J&K youth by ‘choking the already constrained job sector.’
He also exhorted the party functionaries to give all support to the efforts of Administration in the battle against Covid-19 and asked the party functionaries, workers and delegates to help people in whatever way they could.
“The best the people of JK can do is to follow the required Covid -19 protocol, government advisories and shun vaccine inhibition. I hope the party functionaries will take the lead in getting themselves and their families vaccinated,” he said.
