RCS organises blood donation camp at DH Handwara

Handwara, June 14: Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) Kupwara organised a blood donation camp at District Hospital (DH) Handwara.

Blood donation camp was inaugurated by Superintendent of Police (SP) Handwara Sandeep Gupta who was joined by Superintendent District Hospital Handwara Dr Nisar Ahmad, Deputy Superintendent Dr Ajaz Ahmad and other officials of District Hospital Handwara.

   

Speaking on the occasion SP Handwara said that a single drop of blood can save the precious lives and we should participate in such programmes for safeguarding humanity.

Everyone should come and donate their blood for this noble cause to increase the blood capacity in our health system.

Forty two volunteers including journalists, Block Development Council Chairman Langate Showkat Hassan Pandit and Block Development Council Chairman Mawer Tahir Ahmad Mir donated blood.

Speaking on the occasion Showkat Pandit said that earlier people used to be afraid of donating blood but now the scenario has changed and people voluntarily come forward to donate blood.

He said that more and more youth should come forward to donate blood so that patients in desperate need of could be saved.

He demanded that a blood bank be established at Sub District Hospital Langate so that the demand could be lessened at DH Handwara.

Instructor Red Cross society Kupwara Syed Imtiyaz who has so for donated blood for 56th time was widely appreciated.

“I have been always on forefront to donate blood. My aim of donating blood is to encourage youth for blood donation,” he said.
